Cisco Bug: CSCul94737 - sessmgr_pgw_handle_abort_procedure() crash seen in vzw CLAB ST40-CxGW
Dec 25, 2016
- Cisco ASR 5000 Series
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: PGW detects GTPU-PATH-FAILURE on a dedicated bearer. Here PGW cleanups the sub-session entry but doesn't cleanup the corresponding pgw_trans_info_node. After that if PGW detects GTPC-PATH-FAILURE, while moving to SGW-Restoration state, PGW SM will try to abort all pending transaction, at this time it sees the hanging trans_info_node, while accessing the corresponding sub-session entry it crashes, as it is already freed earlier Conditions: (very rare and complex scenario) SGW Restoration Feature is enabled on PGW, with following conditions: 1. PGW sends DeleteBearerReq (in this scenario, this is triggered due to GTPU-ERROR-IND on dedicated bearer) 2. and before getting back the DeleteBearerResponse from SGW, PGW detects GTPU-PATH-FAILURE on same dedicated bearer and followed by GTPC-PATH-FAILURE and trying to move to SGW-Restoration state.
