Cisco Bug: CSCul68737 - CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-PROCESSOR-MIB lists only processorUnit output

Last Modified

Feb 22, 2014

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Computing System

Known Affected Releases

1.4(7h)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Customer is trying to get the temperature readings for the processors via SNMP on C series.

He is using the below servers

UCS C220 M3L with CIMC firmware - 1.5(1f)
UCS C210 M2 with CIMC firmware - 1.4(3t)

CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-PROCESSOR-MIB has the below two tables

a. processorEnvStats (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.41.2) - Provides all CPU power and temperature statistics for every CPU socket

b. processorUnit (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.41.9) -- Provides all CPU statistics for every CPU

As per below link, 1.4 and 1.5 software releases support CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-PROCESSOR-MIB, so we should be able to get the temperature readings for the processor for both releases.

ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/mibs/supportlists/ucs/ucs-C-supportlist.html

The below link confirms that, CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-PROCESSOR-MIB supports

a. processorEnvStats (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.41.2)

b. processorUnit (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.41.9)

Conditions:
When we do a snmpwalk for 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.41, on version 1.4, we see values being shown only for OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.41.9.

A snmpwalk for 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.41.2 is done on same release (1.4), lists no output.

On version 1.5, we are able to view the temperature of the processor as it includes the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.41.2, which lists the processor's temperature.
