Symptom: Post upgrade from DCNM version 6.1.1a to 6.2(5) in windows 2008 R2 VM, the LAN client login fails. The following lines can be seen in <DCNM install root>\dcm\jboss-4.2.2.GA\server\dcnm\log\server.log INFO [com.cisco.dcbu.dcm.service.ServiceInitHelper] DCNM specification version: 6.2(5) INFO [com.cisco.dcbu.dcm.service.ServiceInitHelper] DCNM implementation version: 6.2(5),S36 WARN [com.cisco.dcbu.dcm.service.ServiceInitHelper] DCNM database has a different specification version: 6.1(1a) Conditions: The DCNM installer refers the Install anywhere zero g registry file to determine previous versions of DCNM installations. Failure to read this file due to issues caused by the VM/machine will result in DCNM installer not having this information about previous DCNM installations. Under such circumstances, the above symptoms are seen and database migration during upgrade will be incomplete.
