Cisco Bug: CSCul67102 - NXCLI and classes that use it should have debugging options

Last Modified

Products (2)

  • Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches
  • Cisco Nexus 9508 Switch

Known Affected Releases

6.1(2)I1(1)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
The cisco python package includes an internal module called nxcli that includes a class called NXCLI that is used
to run cli commands by many of the other modules with in the cisco package to get information by those modules
to build their objects. Sometimes those objects are built by passing multiple commands to the CLI at the same time
and it may not be entirely obvious what commands are being executed or what commands failed or why they
failed.

This request is asking for a debugging flag to be added to the objects or globally to allow information about what
CLI commands are being executed by NXCLI to be exposed when they are executed so it can be easier to
understand what lead to a failure.

Conditions:
None - this is a request for better debugging capabilities.
