Cisco Bug: CSCul63301 - How to deal with pucError=TRUE in Maintenance window
Jun 22, 2020
- Headend System Releases
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: The migrate script will not run if the preUpgradeChecks completed with Errors. This is most often duplicates in the sm_pkg_auth table. These may be real, or phantom duplicates present while the preUpgradeChecks were run. We don't really know. Conditions: Upgrading a system. Run the preUpgradeChecks during the preUpgradeChecks phase. If the .pucResults/pucError is set to TRUE, the migrate script will fail. The errors must be corrected before continuing. If these are phantom duplicates, re-running the preUpgradeChecks in the Maintenance window should complete successfully and set .pucError to FALSE. If this is the case, we can continue with the migration. If preUpgradeChecks still detects duplicates, we cannot continue, until the duplicates are removed. Depending on the number of duplicates found, it could take minutes, or hours to clean them up. Request a script be created to detect and remove duplicates while in the maintenance window with the processes stopped. The script should leave one of each duplicate or the subscriber may loose a service.
