Description (partial)

Symptom:
In ECDS we have only load based routing & it is the default routing method of Service Router. Round Robin routing method is not supported. Documentation needs to be updated with this information.

Here is the info from Configuration guide:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/video/ecds/2.5/configuration_guide/prodview.html#wp1156684

Snippet from above guide

+++++++++++++++++
  If a coverage zone is served by multiple Service Engines, all Service Engines are put in the routing table. The metric value, entered in the Coverage Zone file, indicates the proximity of the Service Engine to the client. When multiple Service Engines serving a coverage zone are on the same subnet and have the same metric value, and load-based routing is not enabled, the Request Routing Engine uses round-robin routing to redirect the client. If load-based routing is enabled, the load of the Service Engines are used to determine the best Service Engine to redirect the client.

+++++++++++++++

The following info needs to be added to document in addition for better understanding about Load based routing.

Based on metric ,the Service Engines are ranked & the lowest metric SE is chosen as best Route SE.

When the metric between 2 SE's are same , the requests is sent between 2 SEs. Always the load between the SEs will be monitored & the less loaded SE will be selected.

However if there are threshold condition is met on any of the SE , the SE will be removed from the best Route .

When the metric is different between 2 SEs are different, the lowest metric is always chosen.
On the best metric SE reaching threshold , the next level SE will be chosen for redirection.

Conditions:
In ECDS Service routing  setup
