Cisco Bug: CSCul58110 - Automatic creation of MySQL data directory by installation script
Jan 13, 2017
- Cisco SCE 8000 Series Service Control Engine
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: When installing Insight Reporter on a host that does not contain a previous MySQL DB instance, the installer asks the user if MySQL server needs to be installed. Then the script prompts: "Enter MySQL data directory applicable for your installation (example /home/mysql-data/)". At this point the user is supposed to enter a directory, however it looks the script is not able to create the entered directory. So the directory must be existing before the installation script is executed. This forces the user to abort the installation or open a new shell to manually create the directory on-the-fly and then continue with the script workflow. Conditions: Try to install Insight Reporter on a host that does not contain a previous MySQL server installation.
