Cisco Bug: CSCul57321 - DHCP server may process undesired packets if multiple ports configured

Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco Network Registrar

Known Affected Releases

7.2

Description (partial)

Symptom:
When multiple interfaces are configured to use different DHCPv6 ports for client requests, the server will process packets from all ports on all configured interfaces, rather than just the port configured on an interface.

Conditions:
Requires explicit configuration of specific interfaces with different ports for the interfaces. This is a very unlikely configuration as standard DHCPv6 clients use the IETF (IANA) assigned ports for traffic.
