Cisco Bug: CSCul43726 - Wrong Reject Code to Service Request by MME

Last Modified

Jan 27, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASR 5000 Series

Known Affected Releases

15.0(14) 15.0(16)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Subscriber is attached to MME01 initially, MS goes IDLE, and eventually make Service Request towards MME01. MME01 ignore the request (ACL applied), the MS eventually send the Service Request to MME02
==> if "authentication service request"is configured this goes well and we get back " Service Reject with "UE identity can not be derived by the network"

==> if "remove auth service-req" is configured on target node, we have two different behaviour on our MMEs (even do, from what I have seen the config is the same):

     A) when initial attach is done on MME01 and Service Request is forwarded to MME02 --> we get Service Reject with "No EPS bearer context activated" - this is wrong
     B) when initial attach is done on MME02 and Service Request is forwarded to MME01 --> we get Service Reject with "UE identity can not be derived by the network" - this is correct

Conditions:
