Cisco Bug: CSCul42704 - WIPS-Rogue APs are mistaken as infrastructure devices
Nov 28, 2016
- Cisco Aironet 3700 Series Access Points
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Rogue APs are mistaken as infrastructure devices. Thus, the WIPS alarms (such as deauth, spoofed mac address) are falsely triggered later. Conditions: Rogue devices (unassociated with Cisco AP) send data packet (such as data null) to Cisco AP. That will cause WIPS falsely think rogue devices as part of infrastructure devices.
