Cisco Bug: CSCul42169 - Xbow :: MSDP :: RPF is not pointing to the right MBGP peer

Last Modified

Jan 29, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

6.2(5.52)S0

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Xbow :: MSDP :: RPF is not pointing to the right MBGP peer
IPv4 unicast AF and IPv4 Multicast AF are showing different best paths for the same prefix in BGP.

Conditions:
When a new RNH needs to be added to RIB, it takes a while for RIB to process the RNH and notify BGP. When handling the RNH notification, BGP only triggers bestpath re-selection for IPv4 unicast AF, and hence IPv4 multicast AF still keeps the obsolete bestpath.
