Cisco Bug: CSCul37595 - User guide should specify that there is no limit on number of IPNs

Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco Identity Services Engine

Known Affected Releases

1.2(0.899)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
The user guide should specify that there is no limit on number of IPNs, standalone or in HA pairs.

Conditions:
The official user guide states that maximum two IPNs in HA pair are supported for a single deployment:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ise/1.2/user_guide/ise_ipep_deploy.html#wp1268914

"Cisco ISE allows you to have up to two Inline Posture nodes configured as an active-standby pair for high availability."

This is incomplete, since there is also no real limit on the number of IPNs per deployment.
The sentence should be corrected with the following:

"Cisco ISE allows you to have up to two Inline Posture nodes configured as an active-standby pair for high availability.
It also allows you to have as many active-standby pairs or standalone Inline Posture nodes as needed, up to the limit of supported endpoints for your deployment."
