Description (partial)

When using a redundant interface for the failover link on Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) and ASA Services Module, the failover peers attempt to discover each other using both physical member interfaces. In other words, an ASA will switch to using the other redundant interface member link if it stops receiving failover keepalive messages on the current active interface. This expands regular link-level redundant interface monitoring capabilities only on failover control interfaces. This defect is filed to reflect this information in the configuration guide.

Using a redundant interface as failover control link.
