Last Modified

May 27, 2019

Products (1)

  • Cisco Video Surveillance Manager

Known Affected Releases

7.2(0.17)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
The CPS-SS-4RU RAID controller hangs and the external storage is not accessible.

Conditions:
System configuration:

-	UCS-B server
-	CPS-SS-4RU + CPS-SS-4RU-EX with mixed 2TB and 3TB drives, RAID5 ( 9+1)
-	VMWare version 5.0
-	RHEL 5.8
-	VSM 7.x

1. Begin deploying VMs from a VM template. The VMs were being deployed to
the same datastore that held the template.
2. Once a VM was fully deployed, clone that VM to a different datastore on the
same CPS-SS-4RU system. The two datastores must be on different controllers.
3. An CPS-SS-4RU controller failure is encountered shortly after the clone is executed
