Cisco Bug: CSCul07854 - Need the ability to take traces on Appnav compres/un-compress tunnel

Last Modified

  • Cisco ASR 1000 Series Aggregation Services Routers

Known Affected Releases

3.9(0.0)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
In IOS-XE 3.9 and 3.10 there is the ability to take traces on the external interfaces via the monitor-capture command. The monitor capture command does allow you filter down the traffic by using ACLs. With Appnav functionality there are two sets of flows. The original client to server traffic which can use this ACL and there is the Appnav-xe service controller to WAAS service node traffic which can not use this ACL.
Appnav-XE traffic from the Appnav Service Controller traffic to WAAS service node packets are wrapped in a GRE/SIA protocol and this makes the filter option not very helpful and make traces rather large when needed them in this scenario.

Conditions:
Traces with Appnav-XE.
