Cisco Bug: CSCul00624 - ASA: ARP Fails for Subinterface Allocated to Multiple Contexts on Gi0/6
Apr 16, 2020
- Cisco ASA 5500-X Series Firewalls
Known Affected Releases
8.6(1) 9.0(1) 9.1(2) 9.1(3)
Symptom: When running an ASA5500-X platform in multicontext mode and allocating a subinterface of Gigabit0/6 to more than 15 contexts, the context that is utilizing the last MAC address listed in the RX Address Array in the output of "show controller" in the Gi0/6 section will not have any L2 connectivity to hosts on its own subnet. Conditions: 1. Must be running the ASA5500-X platform in multi-context mode 2. Must have more than 15 subinterfaces of Gigabit0/6 allocated to individual contexts or have multiple subinterfaces allocated to contexts such that the total number of allocated subinterfaces is greater than 15. (Example: Gi0/6.1 and Gi0/6.2 each allocated to 8 contexts would produce this issue and the last Gi0/6.2 interface to be allocated and configured with a nameif would experience the issue). 3. Issue has been seen on 8.6.x, 9.0.x, and 9.1.x versions.
