Cisco Bug: CSCuk61467 - CEFv6 forwards a packet which source address is a multicast
Aug 06, 2018
- Cisco IOS
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: A Router running CEFv6 forwards traffic with a multicast source address. CEFv6 only checks if the source address is a link-local to punt the packet. So, packets with the loopback (::) or the unspecified addresses (::1) are also forwarded. Conditions: This is only seen with CEFv6 enabled. A router which is not configured for CEFv6 will drop these packets.
