• Cisco IOS

Known Affected Releases

12.2(32.8.34)SRB

Description (partial)

Symptom:
A Router running CEFv6 forwards traffic with a multicast source address.
CEFv6 only checks if the source address is a link-local to punt the packet.
So, packets with the loopback (::) or the unspecified addresses (::1)
are also forwarded.

Conditions:
This is only seen with CEFv6 enabled.
A router which is not configured for CEFv6 will drop these packets.
