Symptoms: an entry in the FIB (as shown byshow ip cef) might not be removed as expected. Conditions: the symptoms may be observed on a Cisco router after the following configuration steps: 1) Cisco Express Forwarding is running. 2) Interface is in VRF V, with IP address A. 3) IP routing is disabled
no ip routing 4) VRF V is unconfigured no ip vrf V 5) IP routing is re-enabled ip routing 6) Cisco Express Forwarding re-enabled ip cef 7) VRF V is re-configured. 8) Interface is re-configured in VRF V, with new IP address B. IP address A will still exist in the FIB. Workarounds: There is no workaround for the problem, however it can be avoided by not issuing no ip routing before unconfiguring a VRF.
