Cisco Bug: CSCuk35062 - Local proxy arp responds with incorrect virtual HSRP mac address
Feb 22, 2014
- Cisco IOS
Known Affected Releases
Symptoms: A router that is configured with Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP) may respond with the incorrect MAC address to an Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) request for an HSRP virtual IP address. Conditions: This symptom is observed on a Cisco router if local proxy ARP is enabled and the virtual IP address in not active, or the HSRP group is not configured locally. This caveat prevents the nonactive router from giving an incorrect response.
