Description (partial)

Symptom:
User is on a call.  While on the call, the user tries to use another app that requires the on-screen keyboard - such as Jabber.  When user touches the orange "return to call bar" in the system UI, that bar is treated  like a space bar on the internal keyboard, and does not return the user to the call.

Conditions:
User is on a call, and does not have an external keyboard attached.
