Last Modified

Nov 16, 2013

Products (1)

  • Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

6.0(2)N3(1)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Customers need to keep track of what BGP commands are not supported in previous releases before doing a downgrade.
NXOS BGP is supported on a variety of nexus boxes. Each of these has its own history of when particular BGP commands/features were supported. Since nxos BGP is single sourced, tracking platform specific downgrade code will make the code unmaintainable. Hence the decision that downgrade support that provides warning of which commands are not supported will not be provided.
Downgrades will continue to work as usual.

Conditions:
Certain commands may not be available in previous releases, for e.g. add paths not available in H releases.
When doing downgrade, system will not provide warning upon downgrade attempt, even if command was not available in release being downgraded to
