Cisco Bug: CSCuj96615 - PI sets wrong boot variable for tar images

Last Modified

Known Affected Releases

2.0(0.0.294)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
PI sets a wrong boot variable when distributing a tar image on a stacked switch. When distributing a tar image, the image is located in a directory. PI does not include this directory in the boot variable. As a result, the device cannot start up after a reload.

PI uses the "archive download-sw" to deploy tar images. The "archive download-sw" command automatically sets the correct boot variable, so there is no need to have PI update the boot variable when distributing a tar image. PI should set the correct boot variable, or let the "archive download-sw" command take care of setting the boot variable.

Conditions:
Distributing a tar image on stacked switches.
