Cisco Bug: CSCuj91016 - DCM DOC: Add additional guidance into the documentation for security
Jun 16, 2020
- Cisco Digital Content Manager (DCM) Software
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Cisco Digital Content Manager (DCM) devices may contain default accounts and passwords. When Cisco DCM's are upgraded from a version of software prior to 8.5 the devices will create two default accounts (guest and engineering) on the device to maintain compatibility with legacy Cisco ROSA Network Elements Management platforms. Notification of this action is made during the upgrade process. Subsequent upgrades to later versions of Cisco DCM software will not remove these accounts automatically. Removal of the two accounts as well as the modification of the default password values is the responsibility of the administrator performing the upgrade. Conditions: Cisco Digital Content Manager devices upgraded from a version prior to 8.5.
