Cisco Bug: CSCuj86468 - FICON - Need to expose error for asymmetric PDCM failure to copy config
Aug 04, 2017
- Cisco MDS 9000 Series Multilayer Switches
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: The PDCM (prohibit/allow matrix contains asymmetric entries). for instance, if port 01 is prohibited from port 05, the converse must be true (05 is prohibited from 01). an asymmetric entry is when there is one without the other. This can be detected a couple of ways. The first is that when an update is made to the active config for a FICON vsan (like a name / block / prohibit) this change does not propagate to the IPL file for that FICON VSAN. The second is that if the customer finds any prohibits for the logical reserved port addresses when viewing them from the CLI. Conditions: The condition of the box when there are asymmetric entries is severe. if the box were to lose power or be reloaded, the FICON config for names, blocks, and prohibits/allows will be lost.
