Cisco Bug: CSCuj75454 - Filters do not recognize body inside multipart/mixed > multipart/related

Last Modified

7.6.1-022 7.6.3-019 8.0.0-671 8.0.0-beta2-618 8.5.0-000

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Message and content filters may recognize the body of a message as an attachment instead of as the message body if the MIME structure of a message is deeply nested, such as in the following example:

multipart/mixed
  -> multipart/related
     -> multpart/alternative

This has been found to cause the 'only-body-contains' condition to not match as expected.

This will also cause the 'edit-body-text' action to not operate on the message body.

Conditions:
When messages containing a nested 'multipart/mixed' the filter condition 'only-body-contains' and the filter action 'edit-body-text' filter will not recognize the message body.

Additionally, the filter condition 'attachment-contains' will detect content in the message body as being within an attachment when the email uses this MIME structure.
