Cisco Bug: CSCuj66406 - DHCP Option-82 data missing when L3 roamed
Dec 19, 2018
- Cisco 5500 Series Wireless Controllers
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: When client roams from anchor to foreign WLC and WLAN is enabled for DHCP option 82, the WLC does not forward the DHCP requests with option 82 AP MAC address, but uses 00:00:00:00:00:00 MAC address for AP. Same behavior in an Auto-Anchor Mobility WLAN, as this happens because the Anchor WLC never knows about the specific AP MAC address (this is handled by Foreign WLC, which manages the AP where client is connected), so Anchor can't use this value to be sent over Option-82. Conditions: Any scenario with ANCHOR WLC: - Mobility L3 roam. - Auto-Anchor Mobility WLAN. This is day-1 behavior.
