Description (partial)

Symptom:
The eUSB (Embedded USB) module installed internally on the N77 F3 linecard may fail to respond to accesses from the local processor. Any of the following symptoms may be experienced when this occurs. (For Log examples please see the More-Info section).

(1) Line card gets kernel panic during runtime and is reloaded. "show logging onboard stack-trace" can be used to confirm this.

(2) Line card is not reloaded but experiences eUSB failure during runtime.
The following command can be used to check for eUSB failure : "show system internal kernel messages".

(3) Line card had PLOG failure and ISSU is performed on the failed module. ISSU will fail and line card will be reloaded with Upgrade Failure.

Conditions:
The access failure to the eUSB module on F3 linecard is related to a USB component marginality. It may occur with low probability of occurrence, on a limited set of hardware which uses the marginal component.

The list of serial numbers potentially susceptible to this failure mode is as below , a total of 113 units.
However it may be noted that only a subset of this list will actually experience any symptoms during operation.
