Cisco Bug: CSCuj63449 - Usability: incompatible breakout cables mapping b/w CPAK & CXP optics

Last Modified

Sep 21, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco Network Convergence System 6000 Series Routers

Known Affected Releases

5.0.0.BASE 5.0.1.BASE

Description (partial)

Symptom:
When using breakout cables, the fibre numbers do not match sequentially to the port numbers.
For example, on the CXP, fibre 2 will map to port 0, fibre 3 to port 1, and so on until fibre 11 which maps to port 9.

On the CPAK, the mapping was not sequential hence it was difficult to know what fibre maps to which interface causing testbed setup to be very difficult and time consuming.

Conditions:
Configure a slice in breakout mode, connect the 10 breakout cables to peer interfaces.
