Symptom:
Problem: 
?authentication username <username> password <password> realm <realm>? under the dial-peer or sip-ua requires a minimum of 4 characters for the Username. The SIP provider expects a single digit username.

Conditions:
In the Lab:
When I tried it in the lab I see the following:
 
Router(config-sip-ua)#authentication username a password cisco
Username length MUST be between 4 and 32
 
Router(config-sip-ua)#credentials username abcde password 1 realm cisco.com
Password length MUST be between 4 and 128
