Cisco Bug: CSCuj40521 - sysobjectID reported by NexusVSG is not under the correct MIB

Last Modified

Mar 16, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco Virtual Security Gateway for Nexus 1000V Series Switch

Known Affected Releases

4.2(1)VSG2(1.0.99)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
sysobjectID reported by NexusVSG (cevChassis.1646 ) is recognized by the product id instaed of chassis id.
VSG version:4.2(1)VSG2(1.1)

Conditions:
The sysObjectID being returned by Nexus VSG is cevChassis.1646

The problem is that the 1646 OID that was assigned was actually the product id and not chassis id. As a result of this the OID was not showing up in CISCO-ENTITY-VENDORTYPE-OID-MIB and it is getting listed under CISCO-PRODUCTS-MIB.

If you go to the below link ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/mibs/oid/CISCO-PRODUCTS-MIB.oid (and look for 1646 you will find VSG)

VSG should also be recognized by the chassis id instead of product id since all NXOS products use that.
