Description (partial)

Symptom:
alert-timeout parameter definition is : A numeric value indicating the maximum number of seconds the destination phone should ring before aborting the call attempt.

You can increase this value if you do not want survivability to abort call after defined time while phone is ringing. Below is one scenario:

ICM returns a CUCM hunt group label instead of Agent label and Customer want the call to ring on this hunt group for 120 sec.

In this scenario they have defined param alert-timeout value to 15. What happens is that call drops after 15 seconds while it still rings on the hunt group.

To fix this you can increase the alert-timeout value to have bigger then CUCM huntgroup timeout(121 sec). and issue will be fixed. but now the new issue is if the CVP is down and survivability have the control, it will ring on open-hours-agent1 121 seconds before it goes to open-hours-agent2.

Proposed solution:
have two different alert-timout params to distinguish scenarios when CVP is down and up. For example

Param open-hours-agent-alert-timeout  15 -> to control alert timeout between open-hours-agent phones
Param alert-timeout 120 -> two control the initial alert timeout
