Cisco Bug: CSCuj31895 - No apparent way to export decryption private key to import on new box

Last Modified

Aug 19, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASA Next-Generation Firewall Services

Known Affected Releases

9.1(2)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
If decryption is enabled on a CX/PRSM, the certificate can/must be exported and circulated to users to use decryption.

If the CX needs to be reimaged or "config reset" for any reason, the user cannot import the same cert file to use because an additional private key file is also needed. There is no apparent way to get this private key file from the system.

Conditions:
Decryption enabled and the system is reset/needs to be configured again.
