Dec 25, 2016
- Cisco ASR 5000 Series
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: MME would experience Memory corruption and Crash with Function: : " Sig 11 - Seg fault - sn_memblock_cache_block_flush". Conditions: MME is loaded with 600K Active Subscribers and having Attach rate of around 600 Attaches/Sec. Under this load condition, if we encounter a L3 failure for S11 interface, MME would experience memory corruption and will result in Crash : " Sig 11 - Seg fault - sn_memblock_cache_block_flush". The crashes would continue till the S11 path is restored or the Subscriber load goes away. RCA: DNS client was rebined , dns-client memory is cleared. But mme-application continue to access freed memory. Hence the crash.
