Cisco Bug: CSCuj17416 - Hostscan: activescan=accessdenied error -McAfee VirusScan for Linux 1.9

Last Modified

Mar 12, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client

Known Affected Releases

3.1(5124)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Endpoint doesn't match a DAP configured to detect McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for Linux.

The DAP trace shows the following:
DAP_TRACE: dap_install_endpoint_data_to_lua:endpoint.av["McAfeeAV"].description="McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for Linux (Linux)"
DAP_TRACE: name = endpoint.av["McAfeeAV"].description, value = "McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for Linux (Linux)"
DAP_TRACE: dap_install_endpoint_data_to_lua:endpoint.av["McAfeeAV"].version="1.9.0.28822"
DAP_TRACE: name = endpoint.av["McAfeeAV"].version, value = "1.9.0.28822"
DAP_TRACE: dap_install_endpoint_data_to_lua:endpoint.av["McAfeeAV"].activescan="accessdenied"
DAP_TRACE: name = endpoint.av["McAfeeAV"].activescan, value = "accessdenied"

The application is successfully detected but the activescan (aka Realtime Scanning) returns "accessdenied' which causes the endpoint not to match the DAP.

Conditions:
-Linux OS
-McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for Linux 1.9
-HS 3.1.04075
-A Dynamic Access Policy configured to match McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for Linux (Linux) and Realtime Scanning is Enabled.
