Cisco Bug: CSCuj09659 - DPE is trying to connect to RDU in local host when DNS is misconfigured
May 03, 2017
- Cisco Broadband Access Center for Telco and Wireless
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: RDU is up and running, but Domain Name Service is not available or not configured. If DPE is installed as well as configured at that point of time, it fails to resolve RDU's hostname. The initialization of DPE doesn't fail because of that. Instead, it connects back to itself (at 127.0.0.1) in loopback mode and periodically tries to resolve RDU's FQDN. But, even when DNS is available, DPE is not able to connect to RDU; it continues it's attempt to reconnect forever. Conditions: At the time of DPE installation followed by configuration, DNS should not be available.
