Cisco Bug: CSCuj09541 - After renaming Esxi guest VM, n1k veth port description is not updated

Last Modified

Dec 15, 2016

Products (2)

  • Cisco Nexus 1000V Switch for VMware vSphere
  • Cisco Nexus 1000V Switch

Known Affected Releases

4.2(1)SV2(2.1)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Issuing a 'show interface veth...' will return exactly the same 'Port description is' and 'Owner is VM' fields before and after a VM guest name change.

Conditions:
ESXi 5.0 or 5.1 hosts
1000v 4.2(1)SV2(2.1)

Issuing a 'show interface veth...' will return exactly the same 'Port description is' and 'Owner is VM' fields before and after a VM guest name change.

Disconnecting and reconnecting SVS connection had no impact.
Reassigning GuestVM network adapter to standard vswitch port group, deleting veth, then reassigning GuestVM network adapter back to same 1000v port group results in 'Port description is' and 'Owner is VM' fields with old VM guest name.
