Cisco Bug: CSCuj04486 - transparent requests fail when 'use client supplied IP' and DNS fails

Last Modified

Dec 09, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco Web Security Appliance

Known Affected Releases

7.5.0-ER1-833 8.0.0-216 8.0.6-119 8.5.1-021 8.7.0-172

Description (partial)

Symptom:
If 'advancedproxyconfig > dns > Find web server by > [1] Use client-supplied address then DNS' is chosen (by default) WSA aborts transactions that specify invalid hosts even if client supplied IPs are valid.

If clients can resolve a domain/website but WSA cannot, then access to the website/s may fail especially in transparent setup.

Conditions:
WSA is configured with CLI> advancedproxyconfig > dns > Find web server by>[1]
