Cisco Bug: CSCuj03127 - GE_XP continuously raising CONTBUS and AUTORESETS.
Feb 12, 2018
- Cisco ONS 15454 Series Multiservice Provisioning Platforms
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: When there is heavy traffic passing towards the node that has SNMP walk and IGMP configured on other connected nodes, the GE_XP card resets and reports the CONTBUS-IO-A/B alarm. Conditions: The issue is observed when there is GCC connectivity and provisionable patchcords are provisioned between the GE_XP ports and partner node(s). GE_XP backplane connection uses a serial communication along with the Cell Bus Link (CBL) driver. Due to increased traffic on System Communication Link (SCL) bus, the buffers are insufficient to hold the traffic and forward the same across the other connecting nodes; hence, the packets cannot be transmitted or received further. Due to this limitation, the Keep Alive messages between the control card and the GE_XP card are timed out. The GE_XP card resets after 6 minutes.
