- Cisco ASR 5000 Series
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Unnecessary flow of messages are seen when default bearer QoS & rule QoS are modified during handover from LTE to 3G. For example : Following message flows are seen. 1. primary pdp context QoS is modified as expected ( made QCI =6 from QCI=5 ) 2. UPCQ & R - All rules from Primary PDP Context are deleted first - TFT Opcode: delete existing TFT 3. IPCA Request sent to create secondary PDP Context. 4. CPCQ & R sent to create Secondary PDP context with all rules on it (as sent in IPCA) - TFT Opcode: create new TFT 5. UPCQ & R sent to delete 1 rule from Secondary PDP Context - TFT Opcode: delete packet filters from existing TFT 6. UPCQ & R sent to create new rules on primary PDP Context - TFT Opcode: create new TFT These many messages are not required here. The same operation could have been carried out with far lesser number of messages. Conditions: 1. LTE call established with 1 default bearer (QCI =5 ) having attached 3 dynamic rules. 2. Handover initiated to 3G and during HO, Default-Bearer-QoS is changed (new QCI =6 ) & also one of dynamic rule QoS is modified to match it with new Default-Bearer-QoS values.
