Description (partial)

Drop in TCP (v4 & v6) throughput through a multi-node cluster.

Asymmetric traffic (Load-Balancing) is configured on the switch passing data to the cluster.

Catalyst 6k switch blade WX-6148A-GE-TX is used for CCL. 2 (or more) 1GE links forms a port-channel on each unit which is used as CCL.

In a 4 unit cluster, 2 TCP (v4 & v6) flows are initiated between 2 sets of clients and servers. The flows are owned by 2 different units and the flow forwarders are the 2 other units. In this case throughput of both flows will fall by 50% compare to having only 1 TCP flow through the cluster.

Note that for cases where both TCP flows are using the same link (CCL or data), this throughput drop is expected since the 2 TCP flows are sharing the same link. These cases must not be confused with the above condition where no flows share the same link.
