Symptom: When a connection is attempted right after launching the GUI, but before AnyConnect detects network connectivity, the client fails to overwrite error messages properly. The generic error "Connection attempt has failed." is displayed instead of the more specific error "AnyConnect cannot confirm it is connected to your secure gateway". Conditions: StrictCertificateTrust is enabled in Local Policy file; Connection attempt to headend with an invalid server certificate over SSL;
