Cisco Bug: CSCtf36510 - Commit auto-rollback involving bundle deletion may hit errors
Jan 27, 2017
- Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Bundle interfaces no longer exist (eg. in "show interface"), even though they are in "show running". Conditions: If a "commit" (ie. implicitly pseudo-atomic commit) is done that involves bundle deletion, and the commit hits an apply/verify error then the commit will have auto-rollback applied. During this auto-rollback it is possible that the attempt to re-create the bundle will fail during the apply phase - and so although the interface appears in "show running" it does not actually exist. Due to CSCsq58692 no error will be printed for the auto-rollback failures - errors will only be seen for whatever caused the initial commit to fail. One common instance of this is trying to delete a set of bundles where one or more (but not all) bundle interfaces still have sub-interfaces - the deletion of the bundles with sub-interfaces is blocked, the deletion of the other bundles will go through but be auto-rolled back - and so may hit the symptom mentioned.
