Symptom: Getting following messages on the router console after powering on the standby RP. RP/0/7/CPU0:ATT-PE1#RP/0/7/CPU0:Mar 2 14:29:31.347 : ipv4_smiap: %HA-CHKPT_MESSAGING-7-STANDBY_OPEN_TIMEOUT : Attempts to open standby channel /dev/chkpt_procs/ipv4_smiap_001.d/node0_8_CPU0 failed after 60 retries - continuing last message repeated 2 times Conditions: This message is seen in following sequence of events: - ipv4 virtual address is configured on the router - remove ipv4 virtual address configuration - reload standby RP - after standby RP is booted and around 10 minutes have passed, this message will be seen on active RP.
