Cisco Bug: CSCtf29174 - ACE crashed @LbSticky_StickyLazyLoop with STICKY traffic in two contexts

Last Modified

Nov 01, 2010

Products (1)

  • Cisco ACE 4700 Series Application Control Engine Appliances

Known Affected Releases

3.0(0)A4(0.99.27)

Description (partial)

Symptom:

ACE is crashing in the sticky timer thread when the system is running low in buffer allocation.

Conditions:

In Fusion when sticky code has to send a remote insert/lookup to the another NP, the ipcp api has to allocate a buffer. If the buffer is not available, the api keeps looping till a buffer is allocated. In the pre fusion image this was not causing any issue since the ixp's can still processing traffic. With the new hw this will cause the core to hang since LB can not give up the cpu.
