Cisco Bug: CSCtf18192 - MARS cannot retreive AP hostname correctly via SNMP

Last Modified

Known Affected Releases

Description (partial)

Symptom:

When adding a WLC to MARS, an attempt is made to auto discover the WLC's
Access Points using an SNMP GET request on OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.14179.2.2.1.1.
The WLC returns a noSuchName in response to this request. This may result
in incorrect Access Point entries under the wireless controller device on the
"Security and Monitoring" page in MARS. MARS may also display an invalid
MAC address instead of the AP name.

Running a "pnlog show backend" from the MARS CLI will reveal the following message:
./pnparser|Thread 70646704:L2AgentCreator:: Cannot create agent dynamically because
could not get the AP Name

Conditions:

This issue has only been observed on a MARS appliance running 6.x
