Cisco Bug: CSCtf01124 - Desktop shortcut not created/updated with JRE 1.6.0_18

Last Modified

Known Affected Releases

7.0(2.47) 8.0(0.467)

Description (partial)

Symptom:

Desktop shortcut not created/updated with JRE 1.6.0_18

Conditions:

On a client machine with JRE 1.6.0_18 installed, when the user first downloads and installs Conference Manager from the app server, the desktop shortcut icon is not created.

Also, if the user already had a desktop shortcut and the app server has been upgraded in the meantime, then, when the user double-clicks on the desktop shortcut, the new CM version will be downloaded and installed. After that, the desktop shortcut will no longer work - when the user tries to launch CM through the desktop shortcut, he/she will get the "Unable to launch application" error.

Error details will show something similar to this (on a Windows client)::

CouldNotLoadArgumentException[ Could not load file/URL specified: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\7\39701807-5afd9e36]
