Desktop shortcut not created/updated with JRE 1.6.0_18


On a client machine with JRE 1.6.0_18 installed, when the user first downloads and installs Conference Manager from the app server, the desktop shortcut icon is not created.

Also, if the user already had a desktop shortcut and the app server has been upgraded in the meantime, then, when the user double-clicks on the desktop shortcut, the new CM version will be downloaded and installed. After that, the desktop shortcut will no longer work - when the user tries to launch CM through the desktop shortcut, he/she will get the "Unable to launch application" error.

Error details will show something similar to this (on a Windows client)::
