Cisco Bug: CSCte90279 - Backup route not set when different protocol, same AD, worse metric
Mar 01, 2018
- Cisco IOS
- Cisco ASR 1013 Router
Known Affected Releases
12.2(32.8.11)SX335 12.2(33)SRE 12.4(23.15)T 15.0(1)S
Symptom: If an IPv6 route is learned through two different routing protocol processes with the same administrative distance (AD), such as two EIGRPv6 processes or two RIPng processes, and one process has a better routing metric than the other, then the backup route (worse metric) may not be installed in the IPv6 routing table when the primary route (better metric) is lost. Conditions: 1) Two distinct routing processes with the same AD 2) The route with the better metric is learned and installed before the route with the worse metric. 3) The route with the better metric is lost and removed from the routing table.
