Cisco Bug: CSCte89001 - Doc Bug: ASA 8.0 config guide: 'show threat-detection rate' syntax wrong

Last Modified

Nov 09, 2016

Products (2)

  • Cisco ASA 5500-X Series Firewalls
  • Cisco ASA 5580 Adaptive Security Appliance

Known Affected Releases

8.0

Description (partial)

Symptom:

The document "Cisco Security Appliance Command Line Configuration Guide, Version 8.0", chapter "Preventing Network Attacks", section "Viewing Threat Statistics", has this wording:

"If you enable basic threat detection using the threat-detection basic-threat command, you can track access list denies using the show threat-detection rate access-list command."

The 'show threat-detection rate' command syntax here is wrong. This should read 'show threat-detection rate acl-drop' (replace "access-list" with "acl-drop").

Conditions:

Using the document "Cisco Security Appliance Command Line Configuration Guide, Version 8.0" to review threat-detection configuration syntax.
