Cisco Bug: CSCte81027 - Router drops packets after seeing packet with TTL 1 or IP options
Jan 24, 2017
- Cisco IOS
Known Affected Releases
Symptoms: Incoming packets are dropped because route lookup fails after packets have been passing through for a while. Ping to default gateway fails, but extended ping works fine with "record" option. Conditions: This symptom occurs when the incoming interface has crypto and VRF configured, and CEF is turned on. There is at least one packet sent with TTL 1 or the IP options set. This problem is seen in Cisco IOS Release 12.4 (15)T8 and later releases.
