Cisco Bug: CSCte76002 - Low performance over shared vlans in multi-mode

Last Modified

Nov 09, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASA 5500-X Series Firewalls

Known Affected Releases

8.2(2)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
The counter "Loopback buffer full (loopback-buffer-full)" under "show asp drop" will constantly increase when pushing high throughput between two contexts that are configured for cascading.

This queue is hard configured to 512 and could cause lower throughput results even though the physical interfaces and CPU still have available resources.

Conditions:
Multiple context mode with cascading contexts must be configured. The only flow affected is the flow going through the inter-context vlans.
